The style of your wedding dress all really comes down to a
personal choice. What do you want to look like on your special
day? How do you want to have your husband see his “wife” for
the first time? And don’t forget about all of the picture taking and
video recording that will be going on, so of course you want to
look your best. Don’t get caught up too much in what other’s say
you should wear on “your” wedding.
But the bridesmaids, thats another story. ;) We want to make
sure that we have our bridesmaids, firstly, matching. We don’t
want different colors and styles for each. We also want to ensure
that our bridesmaids styles are matching with the style and theme of the overall event. So if your
wedding is going to be a more traditional theme and style, then you may want to make sure that the
bridesmaids dresses aren’t going to be a Hawaiian theme. Just a little planning and forward thinking
will prevent any big mix ups.
Make sure that when your brides maids order their dresses they do it well in advance so that you can make be sure there are no
last minute changes or switch ups.
Wedding Attire - Do’s and Don’t Ever Do’s
In case you haven’t noticed already, there are an endless amount of wedding dress styles
available. So many things to choose from, accessories, length, fabric and on and on.
You have so much to choose from in the way of style alone. Many brides today are
moving away from traditional wedding dresses and going with a more “up to date” style.
Some of the dresses are just down right “do not’s” for some and they are absolute must
do’s for others. The image below makes my point of a “don’t EVER do”
We don’t want to leave out the men when talking about wedding attire. The men will want to make sure
that he is fitted for his tuxedo early so they will have enough time to get all of the alterations done before
the wedding day. The tuxedo styles aren’t nearly as wide as the bridal gowns and bridesmaid styles.
Black is the generally accepted color for the tuxedo. I don’t recommend straying too far from this, or else
you could be marrying Loyd or Harry from Dumb and Dumber. (If you’ve never seen it, go watch it, its a
great movie).
And of course the best men will want to get their tuxes in the same color as well, just like the bridesmaids.
Any color for men other than black, seems to always ruin the look of the wedding party. So in my
experience opinion, that is something you don’t want to change.
And of course we can’t forget the bride. Remember RULE #1 .. ...
